Boise Front/Hulls Gulch June 24

It was a beautiful day for a ride in the mountains. We felt a little like we had wandered into a family reunion but we felt welcome thanks to the Twizzlers.
5 machines with 9 riders!  Lots of fun gullies and rocks.

Brent (brother in law)
Kris (sister in law)
                  and (almost in outer darkness):
                                 Ron
                               Karen

 These are the riders:
Charles
Janet (daughter)
Angie (daughter)
Matt (son)
Byron (grandson)
Hunter (grandson)
Haydn (grandson)

  ATVs coming closer and closer.

I am sorry to say that I didn't get a good photo of Charles and his new red machine!  It has a lot of "go fast." It looks shiney and new!

Bogus Basin-June 9

Beautiful Day on the Bogus Basin trail. (chilly!)

Riders were:
Dave & Sharon
Ron & Karen
Charles & Angie(daughter)

It was a day of easy trails, lots of beautiful vistas and wonderful wildflowers.

We rode 49 miles and still got home for dinner.
Charles and Angie
Ron and Karen

Dave and Sharon
 !

 LUNCH!
As you can see, we didn't take our coats off all day.

If you don't want to see the wildflowers, you should stop reading right now!

Angie was collecting wildflowers and someday
she is going to tell us their names

This is how we decided to turn around.   We walked up to look at this log across the trail and we could see another 7 fallen behind it. End of ride!

Isn't Idaho a beautiful place?

Black Mountain-June 2

We had a beautiful day to ride up to Black Mountain but we had a little too many adrenaline moments!!
Beautiful scenery!
Riders were Gary and Linda Hall, Dudley and Georgia Griffin, Ron and Karen Stratton.  But without Sharon no one thought of doing a group shot.

We started off riding through the sagebrush.

As we went higher we got into some bushes and junipers.
Then we were up in the pines and we actually found some snow banks.  And as you can see, Ron rode right across the snow bank and had a sliding adventure.

Ron and Gary were so happy they got to use their winches!

Yes we did eat lunch at the "lunch rock"

 Then off for more riding.

I thought the trails were terrible.  As in very rocky, BIG rocks. and really deep gullies. Ron does not think the trails were worse than usual. But Dudley may agree with me.  Yes the worst happened!
The Griffins had a roll over.  Luckily they were not hurt too badly.
They were able to get out from under without too much problem.

Dudley has a banged up shoulder and a skinned up arm.  He is grateful for a good helmet because his head smacked pretty hard.

.
Gary's winch was hooked to the bottom and the ATV rolled right side up.  Not too much was damaged and it was still rideable.  After a time for  adrenaline withdrawal, we started back down the trail.  Georgia drove their machine most of the way.  But when Georgia saw huge gullies and potential trouble, Ron drove it down for her.  Dudley and Karen walked those places.  Soon the trail finished with its worst and we could get some speed hoping to get back to the cars pretty quickly.

It was a beautiful day and we appreciate the scenery and safety.  (Even though he ride ended up taking 8 hours.)
